The jackpot is the largest in state history.
Linda Steiner and Terry Hopkins purchased a scratch-off ticket at a gas station in Cisco, Texas, in October.
The two did not know each other but were neighbors. Steiner's mother died in November and her father died in March, Hopkins told CNN.
Steiner said they decided to wait until after they knew their loved ones' deaths were official before celebrating.
"We decided to go to church and pray," Steiner said. "And the more we prayed, the more we felt good."
Then, they decided to go to the gas station.
Steiner said she felt "it was time to fulfill a prayer" and bought a ticket. She told Hopkins to buy a ticket with her, too.
Steiner scratched off the top card, and Hopkins showed her a $5,000 prize.
They asked the clerk for another ticket and scratched that one, too.
Finally, the clerk said there was another $10 scratch-off card.
Steiner scratched the top of the $10 card and saw a $25 prize. She had a total of $86 million.
Hopkins had $24 million.
"After I saw the winning ticket I was excited and I jumped on the lady," Steiner said.
But Hopkins told CNN, "I was not going to jump on anybody."
Steiner and Hopkins were determined to share the winnings, even though they have grown up with a father, mother and grandmother
